Tempting

Christians identify Lent as the 40 days leading up to Holy Thursday, the day that Jesus had the last supper with his disciples before his crucifixion.  During that 40 days, Jesus was led into the desert by the Spirit to prepare Him for what was to come.  Jesus fasted and prayed, but during that time He was visited by Satan.  Satan's sole mission was to convince Jesus that He did not have to die to gain the whole world.  He only needed to bow down to Satan.  Jesus being fully God and fully man is one of the most difficult things for me to understand.  His humanness could be tempted by Satan, allowing Jesus to fully know the temptation that each of us feel.  But, His Godliness is perfect, and would not bow down to any other God.  I believe Jesus allowed the temptation to demonstrate that His strength can be our strength.   But our strength only comes through knowing and trusting Him.

I found this short video dramatizing Jesus's temptation.  If it helps make these events more meaningful for you, very good.  If not, just leave it.
