A Friend
Do you ever find there’s a whirlwind of emotions swirling inside, each one threatening to burst forth and take control? When I find myself in this place, I strive to keep them locked away, but sometimes they overflow, spilling out unexpectedly. The unfortunate part is that all my pent-up feelings—anger, sadness, and everything else—often end up directed at someone or something totally unrelated to what I'm truly grappling with. I know I should surrender my worries and burdens to God, yet I find that I often (if not always) neglect to do so. I forget to entrust Him with the prayers for those circumstances that lie far beyond my reach. Where does that leave us? With sleepless nights filled with restlessness, and nightmares that cling to us when we finally do manage to sleep. We find ourselves becoming easily frustrated by the smallest of things.
