Memorial Day

 

We are coming into Memorial Day weekend.   For some, this weekend is a time to celebrate the unofficial beginning of summer and for others, it is a time to remember sacrifices made by some so that we can celebrate. Where are you in the mix?  Jesus gave his life to save us from eternal death.  Soldiers gave their lives so that we may live a life with freedoms.   Let’s take time this weekend to give thanks.  Thanks to God for sacrificing his son for our salvation.  Thanks to the Soldiers who laid down their lives for the freedom we enjoy. 

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

When Hope Feels Lost… and Then Finds You Again

There are moments in life when everything feels uncertain. Plans fall apart, prayers seem unanswered, and what we believed would turn out one way suddenly goes another. Luke 24 speaks directly into those moments. It begins not with celebration—but with confusion. The women arrive at the tomb expecting to find Jesus’ body, only to discover the stone rolled away. Instead of clarity, they are met with questions: “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5) The disciples didn’t immediately recognize what had happened.
